"Heirs of the Treasure of the Gospel of Jesus Christ"
Sixty years of Anglican/Roman Catholic dialogue and the future of ecumenism
This course explores six decades of dialogue between Anglicans and Catholics through the ARCIC texts, examining what remains distinctive to each tradition and what is still needed for unity. Mornings are spent in seminar discussion at the Anglican Centre; afternoons visit one of Rome's great churches, each paired with that day's theme and accompanied by a Roman Catholic scholar. The course forms part of the ACR's 60th anniversary celebrations.
• Participants must be 18 or over. A younger person may attend with an approved chaperone (shared with the safeguarding team).
• Participants must arrange their own visas where needed. An invitation letter can be provided on request.
• The pilgrimage donation is €450. Some meals are provided, but accommodation and travel are not included.

The Library
The Anglican Centre's library was opened in 1966 by the Rt Revd John Moorman, who served as Bishop of Ripon and was an instrumental force in the setting up of the Anglican Centre. It was at the core of Archbishop Michael Ramsey's vision for the Centre:
“… the Anglican student is often a debtor to writers within the Roman Catholic Church. This Centre is an attempt to repay that debt by making available the resources of Anglican learning to any who will come and enjoy them.”
— Archbishop Michael Ramsey
This is a reference library, boasting a catalogue of over 15,000 books, and is the largest English-language library on Anglicanism on the continent of Europe. It is used by a diversity of scholars — Roman Catholics living and studying in Rome, the Centre's ScholarsinResidence, clergy on sabbatical, and visiting students on courses at the Anglican Centre. It has a particular focus on ecclesiology, doctrine, and ecumenism, making it ideal for those who wish to explore Anglican theology in depth.
