Eucharistic Celebration for Week of Prayer for Christian Unity 2025

During the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, as it is customary, a variety of people from different Christian backgrounds are present at our Weekly Tuesday Eucharist.  This year's service took place on Tuesday, 21 January 2025.

His Excellency Archbishop Paul Gallagher from the Secretariat of State preached in the presence of Abbott Donato Ogliari OSB, His Excellency the British Ambassador to the Holy See, Chris Trott, Fr. Martin Browne, from the Dicastery for Promoting Christian Unity, theReverends Matthew Laferty and Tara Curlewis, Directors of the Ecumenical Offices of the Methodist and Reformed Churches in Rome, respectively, Dr Christopher Wells and Mr Wayne Wentz, Secretary and member of the Board of Governors.

The Eucharist was presided by Archbishop Ian Ernest. More than sixty people were present at this Eucharist.

Archbishop Gallagher laid emphasis on the need for “all Christians to deepen our understanding and commitment to the faith expressed in the Creeds which are the enduring legacy and riches of the First Council of Nicaea.”
